Volunteerism – The Spirit of Community

Many of our employees are involved in their respective communities in a variety of capacities in an effort to “Make a Difference”. We serve as Board members on our local hospitals, Chambers of Commerce, United Ways, Community Foundations and other organizations. Woods and Durham has always supported its employees becoming involved with these organizations, believing that such efforts strengthen our communities and provide personal growth and rewards for our personnel.


UNITED WAY
Woods and Durham, Chartered, was recognized once again by the Salina Area United Way with a GOLD AWARD from the 2007 Fundraising Campaign. This award is given to companies with 100% participation in the fundraising drive within their firm. Our employees consistently support the campaign – both financially and with our volunteer efforts as campaign workers and committee persons.

THE STIEFEL THEATRE FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS
The Stiefel Theatre for the Performing Arts is a historic restored theatre in downtown Salina.  A non-profit organization which was formed successfully raised over $2 million to completely renovate and restore the building to its original grandeur.  Bonnie Sanderson serves as Treasurer of the Board, and is very active in its operation and activities.
